![]() The LUT isn't a scam - it's real and it's useful, especially to people who don't like grading flat BM4K-styled footage and are instead just trying to build a foundation for a preset. To me, the improvement doesn't justify the $17, especially when the studdmufin BM4K LUT is free. I found that the BM4K LUT was the quickest to give me an image I liked, followed by Leeming, followed (closely) by stock CineD. If you go CineD it gives a yellow tint but more dynamic range, so use the leeming Lut for Panasonic and you’ll be golden. Do sharpness and noise reduction in post because digital sharpening and ND can sometimes ruin shots. ![]() ![]() Weve shot loads of color charts, skin tones, and highlight rolloff tests and were getting close to a LUT that pushes stock CineD into a more usable color space while retaining detail that takes seconds to color correct instead of minutes and. I would do Natural with sharpness and Noise reduction at -5. In the end then, the true test is how FAST can I make a grade that I like from Leeming versus other methods. Also, because the G7 uses a different sensor from the GH4, existing LUTs arent really helpful. So comparing the colored results isn't terribly informative either as it's more indicative of the colorist's abilities, A good colorist can simple match the shots and walk away though, LUT or not. It has to be colored to see what it's worth (like in the test you shared). Since Leeming is meant as a baseline LUT, its direct output isn't really valuable. Sure thing - It's tricky because the whole workflow is somewhat subjective. Check out this thread stuffed with people who love the LUT: I know plenty of people like it, which is cool, but this thing is definitely not for me and no one wants to read a page and a half of me complaining about a LUT.ĮDIT AGAIN: Don't make a decision based only on my opinion. Let me know what else you're curious about!ĮDIT: Yeah, nevermind. I'm gonna shoot some skintones-driven interview-style stuff (most important, IMHO), some low-light (because the author claims to have done some noise-reduction magic with the LUT), some tricky high-dynamic-range scenes, then I'll post some originals, some LUTted, and some graded stills as well as some video so we can observe how the noise patterns change. Also, because the G7 uses a different sensor from the GH4, existing LUTs arent really helpful. ago Posted by PastramiSwissRye Leeming LUT Tests - What Would You Like To See Just bought the Leeming LUT to see what all the fuss is about. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. ![]() Everything is yellow and while you can push it around with color wheels to an extent, skin tones still look unnatural. All things pertaining to Panasonics mini 4k video powerhouse, the G7. I'm gonna shoot some tests this weekend and put together a writeup for you guys - what would you like to see tested?
